membership details
ALHR depends on its members for input and action to practise and promote
awareness of international human rights standards in Australia. Its members
are involved through the National and State/Territory Committees. The
State/Territory Committees regularly contact members in their state or
territory to find members who are keen to assist with ALHR�s work on particular
issues.
Membership of ALHR is open to individuals who are:
- hold a law degree or equivalent from an Australian institution; and/or
- admitted or qualified to practice as a legal practitioner in Australia;
and/or
- working in a legal capacity in Australia at the time of applying for
membership; and/or
- teaching or studying law or law-related subjects leading to tertiary
qualifications to practice law.
There is no organisational membership of ALHR. Membership is free.

Application Process
If you wish to apply for membership of ALHR, please complete the on-line
membership form or download the
MSWord form (34Kb).
Applications are acknowledged and then considered by the National Committee.
You should receive confirmation that your membership application has been
received and then you will subsequently be advised by e-mail of the National
Committee�s decision.
