ALHR (Vic) - It's March ... which means AGM time!
14/03/2012
Dear Members
We hope you are well and that you are enjoying the early days of autumn.
And this month is March - which means it is once again time for the AGM!?
Call for New Committee Members and National Treasurer
ALHR is always on the lookout for new and interested members to join its national committee.
The committee is particularly keen to hear from those who might be interested in assuming the role of national treasurer. (Extended thanks goes out to Victorian member, Eve Lester, who, over the past few years, has conducted her duties as treasurer of the national committee with energy and enthusiasm despite her busy workload).
If you think you might be interested in joining the national committee (or becoming involved in any other way then please email us at [email protected].
(For instance, you might like to assist with writing letters to Ministers, submission writing, on one our subcommittees, or as part of the planning committee for our national dinner which, in 2012, will be held in Melbourne! More on this in a later newsletter!).
AGM
The AGM will on the evening of Thursday, 29 March 2012.
We will be in touch again shortly to confirm the venue and time for the Melbourne national dial-in.
However, so that we can gauge the number of potential in-person attendees, we would be grateful if you could please email us at [email protected] if you think you might like to attend the Melbourne dial-in to the AGM in person.
[NB. If you are able to provide dial-in facilities and a meeting space to accomodate interested attendees we would be grateful to hear from you. We may even be able to arrange for a presentation by a guest speaker pre-AGM to make the event more insightful!].
Dial-in information can also be provided to those who wish to dial-in individually.
National Planning Day
Our national annual planning day will be on Saturday, 28 April 2012 in Sydney.
Attendance is expected of all national committee members. All other members are, of course, welcome to join. (This year we will be hearing updates from our interns and getting some media training!).

Supervisors assist ALHR interns in a voluntary capacity by helping them develop a research paper on a topic of interest. The idea is that results generated from research projects can be used in a meaningful way by ALHR and the wider community.
